Fifth
Avenue has received a number of testimonials about
the quality and performance of their alternators
and accessories. We thought it would be interesting
to print a few of these so you could see what present
owners of Fifth Avenue’s alternators have to
say about their experiences.
“Because
I drive my 1946 Mercury everyday, I can say without
question...Fifth Avenue’s alternator is not only
a big improvement over my old generator and regulator
system, it’s a great piece of engineering. And
best of all it’s American made. My congratulations
to Randy and his staff for building such a great product."

“As ‘Tweety
Bird’ toes the line for the tenth annual Great
American Race, we think back to 1984 when for the first
effort, with our bright yellow 1936 Cord Phaeton, we
drove from Los Angeles to Indy. Now, we no longer agonize
over 50 year old generators and
inherent
regulator problems along with dead batteries. We now
run a 6-Volt Alternator
from Fifth Avenue Antique Auto Parts. Thanks to Randy
and his staff for finding us 3 years ago. Glen Hadeen
and Bob McCutchen, our mechanics, both agree it sure
eliminated a bunch of problems. Can’t thank you
enough.”

Seattle, Washington “For
the 1992 Great American Race season I purchased a 6-Volt
Alternator from Fifth Avenue. During the 1992 Great
American Race I never once had to worry about dead
batteries or dim headlights in our 1935 Chevrolet standard
4-door sedan. The alternator worked trouble free from
coast to coast.

After
winning the 1993 Great American Race, Howard Sharp
acquired a 1911 Velie and spent
the next 18 months preparing the car for the 1995
Great American Race.
With Fifth Avenue’s products and technical
support, the Velie
went on to capture 2nd place in the1995
race out of a field of 100 cars.
“Those
guys at Fifth Avenue really know how to set up a car
to make it reliable! I never once
had any electrical, fuel pump, or cooling problems during
the whole 4,800 mile race. I was really proud to capture
second place driving the oldest car in the race! They
did for this car exactly what they did for my 1929 Dodge
Roadster...made it reliable, and that wins races!” |

Back in 1993 MGM Studios purchased
and installed one of Fifth Avenue’s 6-volt alternators
on a 1953 Ford being used in filming. The alternator did
a great
job, so MGM told Columbia Pictures about the alternators.
Columbia Pictures purchased and installed a pair of Fifth
Avenue’s 6-volt alternators on the two
1947Pontiacs used in the movie “Devil In a Blue Dress” starring
Denzel Washington. The alternators worked good for Columbia
so they in turn told...
Fifth
Avenue has worked with a number of movie studios since
then, their most recent assignment was with Warner Bros studios and the 1997
movie “LA
Confidential” starring Danny Devito. Danny’s
car, and the fleet six early 1950’s police cars
all feature 6-volt alternators from Fifth Avenue. |
