On a business trip to St. Louis the honorable Mayor Stoner stopped of at the McCormick Distillery for an “official” visit. Upon restocking the trunk of his car with full size samples, he remembered that he usually brought Widow Johnson a gift from the road. Being a tea toatler she would not have any use for a spiritual gift. However the mayor used his considerable influence to acquire a single example of the limited edition 1937 Packard Cormorant brand new without any spirits being installed.
This example shown is that very gift and has not had any spirits introduced within… to this day. It can be yours in the original box for the tidy sum of $105.24 F. O. B. Clay Center Kansas 67432 |

This sign was on display for many years in the building next to the bank, which was two doors down from the police station. Johnny McPhee who ran the dry cleaners was often accused of laundering more than clothing. He seemed to make regular deliveries to the Mayor and Chief of Police, which proved to the locals there was much dirty laundry within the city departments.
Johnny later took a job doing laundry for the state and his business was closed on main street. This sign is all that is left of his operation. If you feel the least bit guilty or sorry for old Johnny, send $43.00 plus shipping to the city clerk and he will send you this sign and forward the money to Johnny. |
